"Renee is an amazing dog trainer. If you are even slightly considering dog training, talk to her. She is so much fun to work with, very easy going and has a sense of humor that makes learning how to work with your dog a FUN experience! I noticed a difference in our Chloe after only one session, literally, and I was always excited for our next training appointment! We still keep in touch with Renee...she's wonderful!!" –Kimberly Lambert

Meet the Trainer, Renée Lamoureux

Renée Lamoureux

Renée Lamoureux, IACP Certified Dog TrainerAn IACP Certified Dog Trainer (read more on Renée's blog), Renée Lamoureux grew up with a precocious Irish terrier that she swears hated her. This dog and a unique conversation with her eye doctor convinced her to trade in her successful pet sitting business for a career in dog training.

That first Irish Terrier, was a challenge for the Lamoureux family. Behaviors like running away, fighting with other dogs, sneaking a nap on the couch, stealing homework, rolling in foul smelling garbage and many more helped Renée see what dogs do when they succeed with bad behaviors. When the family acquired an Irish Terrier puppy in 1995 an interest was sparked. How can we have as much fun with this dog without all the frustration that came with the first? Renée looked forward to helping her family train the newpuppy so she wouldn’t end up as legendary as the previous dog. She sat one day having a conversation about the new puppy with her eye doctor. As Renée talked about all the new things the puppy was doing and how just out of college she was looking for a job, the doctor stopped her in mid sentence and exclaimed “Well, you know you could train dogs for a living.”

Her pet sitting focus turned more to educating herself in dog behavior and training. In 1997 she opened her first business, combining dog training and pet sitting. There are so many resources, methods and tools associated with dog training to learn about. Renée understands and is confident in the method and approach that she has built toward working with the everyday dog owner. But she knows that the learning never ends. Attention to education has driven Renée across the United States to schools, workshops and conferences. She has had the good fortune to work with and learn from some of the top dog trainers in the industry. Although, even more important for Renée, is what she has learned from the literally hundreds of dogs and their families that she has had the opportunity to help train.
